Eigentlich einfach zu lösen .
Beim installieren darauf achten , das ein Feld erscheint yast Kontrollzentrum starten . Kreuz rein , weiter , Hardware anclicken ,
Monitor und Grafikkarten anclicken , weiter , Bildschirmhersteller ,
und andere Daten aus den entsprechenden Feldern raussuchen , anclicken , Testen , wenn Test erfolgreich , dann speichern , ansonsten zurück Einstellungen ändern .

I have similar problems with the fujitsu siemens 1310 which just bought it. I can install Suse 10 however after booting the screen and mouse frozes. How did you sort this problem

I don’t understand German and I am not experienced in Linux. I am still trying to find a way to install Linux Suse at the laptop fujitsu siemens 1310. As you know from my previous posting I tried successfully to install Susse 10 at the laptop fujitsu-Siemens 1310. However, after booting the screen and the mouse frozed. I have logged as root through the “failsafe”, (booting from the installation CD) and tried to run the sax2 program, but this program does not exist. Does any have more specific information or procedures to solve the problem?

I eventually succeeded with the Suse installation at the Fujitsu Philips amilo 1310 laptop. If you remember I had the black screen and frozen problems after the installation of the Suse 10.0.  I was not able to activate the command window with Ctr-Alt F1(or F2 ?). After downloading and installing the Suse 10.1 I had just a ‘noisy’ screen but I could open a command terminal command window with Ctr-Alt F1(or F2 ?). Then I login as root (struggled to recall the root password which I had created  when I had installed Suse 10.0)!! Then I typed “init 3”, “sax2 -a” and I edit the /etc/x11/xorg.conf  “mcedit/etc/x11/xorg.conf ” in which I replaced the <radeon> with the <vesa>. Finally I typed “init 5” and “startx”.
I hope these resumed information will help somebody else. But there is no guaranty that your system wouldn’t be damaged, so do use them if you are aware of the meaning behind these commands. Have a look also at following references.
