Konfiguration PCTel HSP MicroModem 56

Hallo,

brauchst einen Treiber der nicht (mehr,seit Suse 10)zum Lieferumfang der Suse gehört. Findest Du hier: www.linuxant.com
Bei älteren SuSE-Versionen musst Du nach dem Treiberpaket hsf-Linmodem suchen, entweder vom Datenträger oder per Yast-Online-Update.
Ist der Treiber installiert kannst Du das Modem per yast mit wenigen Mausklicks konfigurieren.

hat jemand evtl. auch Probleme mit seinem PCtel HSP MicroModem 56? In der E-Mail habe ich mich vertan, YaST gibt an, das es ein "PCTel HSP MicroModem 56" sei und dieses HSP macht mich stutzig.

Ich möchte nur ungerne einfach Treiber ausprobieren, da mein Suse, inkl. der Fax-Funktion nicht unproblematisch läuft, alternativ habe ich auch eine Teledat USB 2 a/b, die aber Probleme macht, 1. mit jedem Upgrade von Suse der den kernel-default betrifft wird es eine Lotterie einem fertigen RPM hinterher zu rennen, 2. gibt es Probleme mit USB und zwar nur zur Teledat, ein Plug'n'play-USB-MIDI funktioniert und 3. währe es auch schön unproblematisch ein RPM für den kernel-rt hin bekommen zu können.

Sollte es so aussehen, als ließe ich Threads verhungern, so liegt dies an Alice, meinem DSL-Provider, der es seit mehreren Monaten Neukunden nicht ermöglichen kann reibungslos das Internet zu nutzen, im Laufe des Jahres werde ich aber ggf. noch offene Threads wieder aufnehmen.

I was linked to Your Side from
http://www.computerhilfen.de/hilfen-6-116687-0.html. There is no
Conexant Chip on the PCI Modem i try to use with openSUSE 10.2 as a
Fax-Modem, only one Chip that sounds a bit like "Conexant R6789-51"
it's a "PCtel PCT789T 0008 A019 TAIWAN K".

YaST detects it as the PCTel MicroModem 56.

Firefox couldn't open the Side cnxtinstall.run needed, Yakuake
displayed the following:

I couldn't find it in the List Modem Manufacturer Reference Table and
to use your Windows detection would be a little difficult with Linux.

with my first short view i only find drivers for Win and kernel older than 2.6.18.8-0.3-default and no source but there are a lot more links to follow.

I will post this in a forum cause it may help people with any older modem to find a driver.
